Arenas 50th Anniversary Elite Team Signature Collection

Arena, for its 50th birthday, asked 10 of its most representative athletes to tell which creature best represented them and why. What is the primordial instinct that guides them in their choices, from training to the starting block?

For each athlete, the perfect swimsuit has been chosen. The Carbon Glide, Carbon Core FX, and Powerskin Carbon Air² are the three selected racing models of the collection.

Kyle Chalmers - Great White Shark

Since she was a child and swam in her grandparents' pool, just like Ariel, the Little Mermaid par excellence, she was able to feel free only when she spent hours underwater.

Lydia Jacoby - Orca

For Lydia Jacoby, that place made of immense spaces, cold temperatures, and free animals is simply home. And as much as she can explore, travel and learn about the world, she will always feel deeply connected to that precise point on the map. 

Just like the orca, her totem, which lives sedentary in the icy waters of Alaska, Lydia is a social animal too, tied to her origins and her family.

Gregorio Paltrinieri - Dragon

Sarah Sjostrom - Eagle

The eagle symbolises power, victory, and majesty par excellence.It therefore comes as no surprise that the eagle is the Totem animal of Sarah Sjostrom, who has been the queen of speed, in swimming for over 14 years, holder of records that seem carved in stone, and a woman capable of performances that will go down in the history of this sport.

Kristof Milak - Falcon

The structure of the falcon is perfect for achieving speed with its long and powerful wings, drop-shaped body, and claws ready to grab the prey. 

If the speed of this bird is an innate talent for Kristof Milak, world record holder in the 200 metres butterfly, the search for rhythm is a continuous challenge, it stems from his natural gift, but he trains hard, day after day, in order to build finally the perfect gesture.

David Popovici - Dragonfly
