GREGORIO PALTRINIERI PROFILE

Gregorio swapped his preferred event from breaststroke to the long-distance freestyle as a 12-year-old, before moving away from home to attend a national training centre close to Rome in 2011. Since then, Paltrinieri never looked back and seamlessly moved into adult competitions. Gregorio attended his first Olympics at London 2012 aged only 17 – finishing fifth overall! He has gone on to win five gold medals since 2012 in European and World Championships and the 2016 Olympic Games.
