Superhero Spotlight: Freya Colbert
- 24 Nov 2019
Here at ProSwimwear we hold swimming and swimmers at the heart of everything that we do. That’s why, we are introducing the Superhero Spotlight! In these editions of blogs, we will be celebrating Superhero athletes who are shining brighter, and swimming brilliantly.
Practice Makes Potential
There are many up-and-coming young swimmers who are making themselves known in the swimming world. One of them is Freya Colbert. She currently swims for Nova Centurion in Nottingham. This fifteen-year-old swimmer from Great Britain has competed internationally – and the results are amazing.
Recently, she competed in the European Junior Championships 2019 in Russia. She placed highly in numerous events and showed incredible skill. She placed seventh in the 4x100m freestyle, fourth in the women’s 400m medley and in the 4x100m mixed freestyle and placed second in both of the women’s 4x200m freestyle events.
Podium Pioneers
Freya’s hard work wasn’t lost either. After the hard work from the young swimmers at the European Junior Championships 25 of the young and talented swimmers were awarded places on the British Swimming Podium Potential’s list. Freya Colbert is one of six English teenagers that made the cut.
There is a possibility those on the Podium Potential list will be entered into Tokyo 2020, but it is more likely that they will keep training until the Paris 2024 Games. It is Freya’s hard work and perseverance that has gotten her on this list, along with juggling swimming alongside general life responsibilities like schools and exams.
For Freya Colbert the results show her achievements – but the for the future it seems like she shows no signs of slowing down.
Here at ProSwimwear we say a huge congratulations to Freya on her achievements! We look forward to seeing what you do next!
