Cliff diver Rhiannan Iffland's Instagram pool diving stunt goes viral

A stunning but very high-risk dive from a swing into a swimming pool has gone viral on social media this weekend.

Thousands of people have viewed the clip, which shows the diver get catapulted nearly 25ft into the air before performing multiple somersaults and landing safely in the pool.

But before you even consider attempting a similar poolside maneouvre, be aware that this is no normal swimmer – she is none other than Red Bull Cliff Diving champion Rhiannan Iffland, from Australia.

Iffland, who is also an accomplished high diver and won a gold medal at the World Championships in Budapest last year, posted the video on Instagram. It has already been viewed more than 8,000 times.

The incredible clip shows Iffland and fellow cliff diver Todor Spasov building up momentum in the poolside swing, before she leaps from the vertical swing and performs multiple flips, landing perfectly in the water.

Iffland posted the video along with the message: "Keen to get back into the 'swing' of things with my partner in crime @govedodiver."
