FINA, the international governing body of swimming, are considering draft rules on the legalities of wearing wetsuits at the Rio 2016 Olympic games open-water events. The chairman of the FINA Swimsuit Approval Commission has been asked to draw up draft rules for the wearing of neoprene wetsuits in Open Water competitions where the water temperatures are likely to be below 18ºC-20ºC.

Finishing in first place at the USA Swimming Olympic trials on Saturday, Michael Phelps has secured the chance to defend his 100-meter butterfly gold medal in Brazil. Phelps finished the event with a time of 51 seconds flat, ahead of Tim Shields who finished with a time of 51.20.
Michael Phelps takes great pride in claiming that he will answer anything. It does not matter how raw or how personal the question, he says, he will give you a reply and he will not sugar-coat it. As he puts it: “This is who I am now.” So it seems apt to test the waters by asking him about alcohol.
